a bit about me

I’m an artist. And I love it.
I have a degree in Clay and Digital Media, and went on to an MFA in Sculpture. I taught as an assistant professor in Visual Arts, and am now working on my own in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I’m currently exploring bronze and plaster (both of which are new for me), and also working with small silver and wax pieces. I have a beautiful wife and an adorable son; he never, never, never stops talking. We also have a lovely little miniature schnauzer named Peaches.

I LOVE traveling! I’m from the States, lived in South Africa for a short time as a child, lived in England during my Master’s, and am now living in Northern Ireland.

current research interests

I am interested in the role of tactile materials, specifically clay, in the potential development of the healing process in mental health patients. Additionally, I am interested in the perception of sculptural ceramics through touch in the context of art appreciation. I am also exploring other materials and processes including bronze, silver, and glasswork.
